How to play Trench Town

Trench Town is a play-to-earn game where your grinding pays off, and it plays in your browser. Recruit a champion, park them in camp to farm while you're away, and send them into the Endless Trench once an hour for loot to wear, or to sell to other players for $TRENCH.

Choose your champion

The basics

A check-in takes a few minutes. This is the whole loop.

  1. Recruit a champion

Pick one of 5 classes on the recruitment board and sign in. Your first champion is free, and recruiting it creates your account.

  2. Spend your skill points

You start with 10 points to split between STR, AGI, VIT, INT and LUK, and get 2 more every level.

  3. Pick a spot in camp

Park your champion at the Dig Site, the Training Yard or the Bazaar. They farm gold, XP and diamonds around the clock, even with the game closed.

  4. Dive the Endless Trench

Send them down once an hour. They fight floor after floor and come back with gold, XP, diamonds and gear.

  5. Collect and level up

Check in to collect before their bags fill up (8 hours), equip your loot, learn talents and push deeper.

The champions

Each class has a signature skill, a passive, its own stat growth and a favored spot where it farms 20% faster. Start with the one you like. You can recruit the rest later.

Stats and skill points

You start with 10 skill points and earn 2 more per level, up to level 100. Champions also grow a little on their own as they level. Put points into the stats your class hits with, then shore up the rest.

Farming in camp

Your champion works whichever spot you park them at, online or not. Earnings pile up for 8 hours, then their bags are full and they wait for you, so collect a few times a day. Higher levels farm faster.

Want longer between check-ins? Bags hold more with the Deep Pockets and Trench Tycoon talents.

The Endless Trench

The dungeon under camp has no bottom. Each champion can dive once an hour, and the fights play out as a turn-based battle you can watch.

  • Every floor is one fight. A run warms up on your last 3 cleared floors, then pushes into new ones until your champion runs out of stamina (8 floors, more with Deep Diver) or gets knocked out.
  • HP carries over from floor to floor, with a little healing after each win. VIT heals more.
  • A boss waits every 10 floors. Bosses hit harder, but pay triple gold and XP, always drop an item and give 2 diamonds.
  • It gets meaner. Monsters get tougher with every floor, and deeper bands bring new colors and nastier looks.
  • Losing is fine. A knockout just ends the run. You keep everything you earned on the way down.
  • Quick start. A new champion's first 3 dives need no rest. After that the rests get longer until it's once an hour.
  • Can't wait? The cooldown gets shorter with the Insider Info talent, and a skip (paid in SOL) or a timer reset from the Burn Wheel sends you straight back in.

First floors

  • From floor 1

    Gas Slime

Burns your fees just by existing.

  • From floor 3

    Jeet Goblin

Sold at the bottom. Blames you for it.

  • From floor 4

    Paper Hands

Folds under the slightest pressure. Somehow always escapes.

  • From floor 8

    MEV Bat

Front-runs your every move and takes a cut.

  • Floor 10 · boss

    Big Gas Energy

The Gas Slime, boss-sized. Pays triple and always drops loot.

Gear and loot

Loot drops in the Trench: bosses always drop an item, and other floors sometimes do. Your champion has 5 gear slots: weapon, armor, boots, trinket and ring.

Diamond Hands in starter gearDiamond Hands in a full set of Genny gear
Diamond Hands, fresh off the board and in full Genny. Gear recolors your champion, and Genny pieces add an aura, sparkles, glowing eyes or a weapon glint.
  • Rarer drops come with more luck and the Appraiser talent.
  • Enhance gear up to +10 with gold. Each level adds 10% to the item's stats, and from +6 it costs diamonds too.
  • Sell what you don't need for gold. The price goes up with INT, plus the Haggler and Market Maker talents.
  • Or sell it to players for $TRENCH. List any piece from your bag on the market in camp at a price you set. The buyer's wallet pays yours, less a 10% cut for the town. How the market works.
  • Your bag holds 40 items. When it's full, new drops are sold automatically.

Talents

Every level also gives 1 talent point to spend across three charts. Deeper tiers open once you've put 3, 6 and 10 points into a chart, and each chart ends in a capstone.

Changed your mind? A respec costs 5 diamonds and gives back every skill and talent point.

Your roster

Run up to 5 champions. Each one farms its own spot and dives on its own cooldown, so more champions means more loot.

Questions

Is Trench Town free to play?

Yes. Your first champion is free, and recruiting it creates your account. Everything after that is earned by playing. The only purchases are optional: extra champions early, cooldown skips, Burn Wheel spins with $TRENCH, and gear other players sell on the market, also for $TRENCH.

Can I earn $TRENCH by playing?

Yes, that's the point: your grinding pays off. Sell the gear you find in the Trench to other players on the market, paid straight to your wallet, and every Burn Wheel spin is a shot at its $TRENCH slice. How Play 2 Earn works.

What do I need to play?

A web browser. Sign in with your wallet, email, X or Google. If you buy anything later, pay with a browser wallet, open your wallet app, or scan a Solana Pay QR code with Phantom, Solflare or any Solana Pay wallet.

Does my champion keep farming when I close the game?

Yes. Earnings build up for 8 hours at a time (longer with Deep Pockets and Trench Tycoon). After that, their bags are full and your champion waits for you to collect.

Can my champion die?

No. A knockout ends that dive and you keep everything earned on the way down. Diamond Hands can even survive one killing blow per run.

How often can I dive?

A champion's first 3 dives need no rest. After that the wait grows to 5, 15 and 30 minutes, and from the 7th dive on it's once an hour per champion. The wait gets shorter with the Insider Info talent. A SOL skip or a timer reset from the Burn Wheel skips it.

What is $TRENCH?

Trench Town's official token on pump.fun. In the game, it buys spins on the Burn Wheel: each spin costs about $10 of $TRENCH at the live price. Half of what you spend goes into the jackpot, and the wheel's $TRENCH slice pays out of it. The other half is burned on-chain for good. Live counters in the game show what's in the jackpot and how much the whole town has burned since day 0. $TRENCH is also the market's money: players sell the gear they find to each other, paid straight into the seller's wallet less a 10% cut that goes to the town's treasury.

Why does the developer wallet hold so much?

The developer wallet holds a substantial amount of $TRENCH so we have the capital for the play-to-earn prizes. Address: 4Zo7GdWmbxAuzYuUjirvFwd6Fk61x1V7Ck3Zz9Tybu7W

Is there a referral program?

Yes. Every player has an invite link under Invite in camp. A friend who signs up with it starts with 1,000 gold, you earn gold of your own once they reach level 5, and when they buy their first champion you both get diamonds. How the referral program works.

What can the Burn Wheel pay out?

The odds: Gold 23.5%, XP 16.7%, Gear 11.8%, Timer reset 9.8%, Diamonds 9.8%, Gold pile 8.8%, Free spin 7.8%, Level up 5.9%, Genny 2.9%, $TRENCH 2% and Jackpot 1%. Gold grows with your highest level, XP with your champion's level, and gear is rolled at your deepest floor. A slice's width on the wheel is its chance, and you can spin as often as you have spins.

Ready to dig in?

Your champion farms on their own. You just have to recruit them first.
